Used Komatsu WA470-5 22-ton wheel loaders for sale

The Komatsu WA470-5 is a 22-ton-class wheel loader built for quarry work, aggregate handling, truck loading, stockpile management, road construction, and high-volume material movement.

Makana’s WA470-5 uses the Komatsu SAA6D125E-3 six-cylinder diesel engine producing 261 hp, paired with a full-powershift countershaft transmission for repeated loading, carrying, and repositioning cycles.

Buy Komatsu WA470-5 wheel loaders with 4.6 m³ bucket

The available Makana configuration comes with a 4.6 m³ loose-material bucket with teeth measuring approximately 3.17 m wide. This setup is well suited to aggregate, sand, gravel, soil, road base, and other bulk materials.

Breakout force is around 188 kN, providing strong bucket penetration when working into stockpiles and material piles, while the model’s tipping load is approximately 18.9 tons.

Why choose a Komatsu WA470-5?

The loader provides approximately 3.12 m of dump clearance and 1.3 m of dump reach, giving it practical geometry for loading trucks, feeding hoppers, and handling materials around processing equipment.

Its 3.45 m wheelbase and 40° articulated steering angle combine stability with manoeuvrability when moving between loading faces, trucks, and stockpile areas.

Maximum travel speed reaches about 41 km/h, helping reduce travel time within large quarries, construction sites, ports, and industrial yards.

The WA470-5 also uses a 390 L fuel tank and heavy-duty drivetrain designed for production applications where the loader performs repeated loading and load-and-carry cycles throughout the working day.
