Used Cat 966L 23-ton wheel loaders for sale

The Cat 966L is a 23-ton wheel loader designed for high-volume truck loading, stockpile handling, quarry work, aggregate yards, road construction, and bulk material movement.

Makana’s Cat 966L uses a Cat C9.3 diesel engine rated at 305 hp, paired with an automatic planetary powershift transmission. This combination gives the loader the power and travel performance required for repeated loading and carrying cycles in demanding production environments.

Buy Cat 966L wheel loaders with 4.6 m³ bucket

The available Makana configuration comes with a 4.6 m³ general-purpose bucket, making it suitable for sand, gravel, aggregate, road base, soil, and other loose materials.

Breakout force is around 173 kN, helping the bucket penetrate stockpiles and fill efficiently. Articulated tipping load is approximately 14.7 tons, providing a stable loading platform for continuous material handling.

Why choose a Cat 966L?

With the standard linkage and a bucket in this size range, dump clearance is around 3 m, giving the loader practical clearance for truck loading and hopper feeding.

The L-series also uses load-sensing hydraulics designed to provide hydraulic flow according to demand, helping combine responsive implement performance with efficient production cycles.

Cat 966L for quarry and aggregate loading

Maximum travel speed reaches around 39.5 km/h, helping the 966L move efficiently between loading faces, stockpiles, trucks, and processing areas.

Its combination of 23-ton operating weight, 4.6 m³ bucket, 173 kN breakout force, and high travel speed makes it particularly relevant to quarries, aggregate operations, batching plants, road projects, and large construction sites.
