Used Cat D6R2 LGP 22-ton crawler dozers for sale

The Cat D6R2 LGP is a 22-ton-class low-ground-pressure crawler dozer designed for grading, site preparation, road construction, spreading fill, backfilling, land development, and earthmoving on soft or lower-bearing ground.

Makana’s 2021 D6R2 LGP uses an 8.8 L Cat C9 ACERT six-cylinder diesel engine producing 206 hp, paired with a planetary powershift transmission for repeated pushing and grading cycles.

Buy Cat D6R2 LGP dozers with 3.9 m³ straight blade

The machine is equipped with a Straight S blade with 3.89 m³ capacity and approximately 4 m overall width.

This blade setup is well suited to grading, spreading soil, shaping road formations, backfilling, levelling building pads, and controlled material movement where surface accuracy matters.

Why choose a Cat D6R2 LGP?

The key advantage is the LGP undercarriage with 900 mm single-grouser track shoes, which spreads the machine’s weight across a wider footprint than a standard-track dozer.

Caterpillar rates the LGP straight-blade configuration at around 5 psi ground pressure, helping the machine maintain flotation and traction across sand, loose soil, reclaimed land, and other low-bearing surfaces.

Cat low-ground-pressure dozer for soft ground and grading

The D6R2 LGP uses differential steering with tiller-bar control, allowing the machine to turn while maintaining power through the tracks.

Maximum travel speed reaches approximately 11.5 km/h, while the 424 L fuel tank supports extended working shifts.

With approximately 21.66 tons operating weight, wide LGP tracks, and a 4 m straight blade, the D6R2 LGP is particularly relevant to sandy sites, road projects, land development, infrastructure, and grading work where flotation is as important as pushing performance.
