Used Cat D7G2 20-ton crawler dozers for sale

The Cat D7G2, also known as the D7G Series 2, is a 20-ton-class crawler dozer designed for bulk earthmoving, site stripping, road construction, haul-road maintenance, spreading fill, and general production dozing.

Makana’s 2011 D7G2 uses a 10.5 L Cat 3306 six-cylinder turbo diesel engine producing 203 hp, paired with a 3-speed planetary powershift transmission for straightforward pushing and repeated directional changes on demanding jobsites.

Buy Cat D7G2 dozers with 4.2 m³ straight blade

The machine is equipped with a Straight S blade with 4.2 m³ capacity and an overall width of approximately 4.2 m.

This wide straight-blade configuration is suitable for spreading fill, levelling work areas, shaping haul roads, site stripping, stockpile management, and pushing soil or aggregate across medium-to-heavy earthmoving projects.

Why choose a Cat D7G2?

The D7G2 combines approximately 20 tons operating weight with a relatively simple mechanical drivetrain and conventional low-drive undercarriage.

Makana’s machine uses 510 mm single-grouser track shoes, providing a firm footprint for production work on compacted soil, road bases, quarry areas, and open construction sites.

Ground pressure is approximately 10.3 psi, making the machine better suited to firm working surfaces than LGP dozers designed specifically for soft ground.

Cat dozer for roadwork and production earthmoving

The 3-speed planetary powershift transmission uses a single-lever U-pattern shift control, allowing the operator to manage travel direction and gears during repetitive pushing cycles.

Maximum forward speed reaches around 10 km/h, while the 415 L fuel tank supports extended working periods.

The D7G2 fits road construction, site stripping, bulk earthmoving, haul-road maintenance, land development, and other projects that need more pushing capacity than smaller D5 or D6-class dozers.
