Used JLG 860SJ 28 m boom lifts for sale

The JLG 860SJ is a 28 m diesel telescopic boom lift designed for large construction projects, structural steel, façades, industrial maintenance, infrastructure, and other high-access applications that require substantial horizontal reach.

Maximum working height reaches approximately 28 m, while horizontal outreach extends to nearly 23 m. This combination allows operators to reach high structures and work points positioned far from the machine, including areas behind equipment, buildings, and other obstacles.

The 860SJ provides approximately 227 kg of unrestricted platform capacity, while capacity increases to around 340 kg within the restricted working envelope.

This gives contractors additional flexibility when carrying workers, tools, or materials. The platform also rotates through 180°, helping operators position themselves accurately beside steel structures, façades, pipework, and industrial equipment.

Why choose a JLG 860SJ?

The 860SJ includes an articulating jib with approximately 130° of movement, giving operators additional control when approaching a work point at the end of the telescopic boom.

The upper structure also provides continuous 360° rotation, allowing the machine to cover a wide work area from one chassis position rather than constantly moving the base.

The Deutz diesel engine produces around 67 hp, while the rough-terrain setup provides approximately 45% gradeability and an oscillating axle for uneven construction and industrial surfaces.

Travel speed reaches around 5.6 km/h with the boom lowered. With an operating weight of approximately 16.7 tons, the 860SJ uses a heavy chassis to provide the stability required for its large working envelope.
