The Cat 323D3 is a 23-ton medium excavator built for demanding excavation, earthmoving, trenching, truck loading, and infrastructure work. With a reinforced boom, heavy-duty undercarriage, and severe-duty rock bucket, it is designed for contractors who need a productive excavator for regular work in tougher ground conditions.

Power comes from a Cat C7.1 diesel engine producing around 150 hp, giving the 323D3 the power needed for digging, lifting, loading, and attachment work across construction and infrastructure projects.

The Cat 323D3 can dig to around 6 m and reach approximately 9 m, giving it the working range needed for deep excavation, utilities, foundations, road construction, and major site preparation.

Its severe-duty rock bucket holds around 1,200 liters, while bucket digging force reaches 147 kN. This combination makes the 323D3 particularly useful when cutting harder ground, loading excavated material, and maintaining steady production over longer work cycles.

Why choose the Caterpillar 323D3

The 323D3 is designed around durability and productive excavation. Its reinforced boom and stick support demanding digging work, while the long heavy-duty undercarriage provides a stable base when excavating or handling heavier loads.

Auxiliary hydraulic piping also allows compatible attachments to be used when a project requires more than bucket excavation. This gives contractors one medium excavator that can move between earthmoving, trenching, loading, and other site tasks.

The Cat 323D3 fits general construction, road projects, infrastructure, utilities, site development, and large-scale earthmoving. Its 23-ton size provides more digging and loading capability than compact excavators while remaining versatile enough for a broad range of contractor fleets.
